satellite and ground based communications, and will focus on the challenges and growth opportunities for satellites in the future digital economy. It also aims to identify what is at stake for the various players in the added value chain (equipment and satellite manufacturers, satellite
operators, telecommunication operators, Internet giants, service providers, ...) and will look into their positioning on tomorrow's markets. This event is organised during the Toulouse Space Show by IDATE and CNES, the

Guided press tour at the exhibition of the Transport Research Arena Europe (TRA) 2010
Transport Research Arena Europe (TRA) 2010 is taking place in Brussels from 7 to 10 June 2010. Contributing to safer, greener and smarter transport, TRA 2010 will feature a conference and exhibition uniting researchers and practitioners from all corners of road transport. Directorates-General Information Society (INFSO), Research (RTD) and Mobility (MOVE) are organising a guided exhibition tour for journalists to present six of their most successful projects to the media. The tour will take place at 16h00 on 9 June 2010. After the tour, at about 17h15, journalists will be invited to a 90-minute pre-view of TV documentary "Thinking Cars" produced by H3B media in the framework of a DG INFSO project. Working group on spectrum regulation: ITU World Radio Conference WRC-12
The main objective of this workshop is to debate specific conference issues relating to EU policies in order to:
assist the Commission's preparation of its multi-annual Radio Spectrum Policy Programme as well as a Communication to the Council of Ministers and to the European Parliament on common EU policy objectives for WRC-12;
inform the forthcoming work of the Radio Spectrum Policy Group on WRC-12;
provide an input to CEPT in the finalisation of the European Common Proposals to the WRC-12.

Future Network & Mobile Summit 2010
The Future Network and Mobile Summit 2010 takes place in the Historical City of Florence on 16 - 18 June 2010. This is the nineteenth in a series of Annual Conferences supported by the European Commission, which regularly attracts over 600 delegates from industry and research to share experiences and research results, identify future trends, discuss business opportunities and identify opportunities for international research collaboration under the ICT Theme of Framework Programme 7 (FP7). It will thus contribute to showcasing European research in the field, and position it within the multiplicity of related initiatives supported in other regions of the world. In the context of convergence, the 19th Future Network and Mobile Summit will address the challenges of building the Future Internet, based on mobile, wireless and fixed broadband communications infrastructures.

First European Convergence Workshop on a pan-European eHealth Infostructure
This first Workshop aiming at the design of a pan-European eHealth Infostructure will take place at the 10th International Special Topic Conference of the EFMI. The topic of the workshop is "Semantics and ontologies - opportunities and challenges for convergence". The event is initiated by the FP7 Integrating Project DebugIT. It will bring together various EU FP7 and CIP projects, including DebugIT, PSIP, EU-ADR, epSOS and CALLIOPE, for a full day meeting. The second part of the day is open to the wider public.

Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) and Regions workshop - Building an AAL Community of Regions
Many AAL stakeholders, especially service organisations, SMEs but also political bodies and administrations, are operating on a regional level. In particular, end users and family carers have mostly a regional or even local perspective. Access to markets, especially for new systems solutions, are possibly easier on a regional level because of already existing networks and activities between main actors and supportive regional policies and programmes as e.g. special credit schemes for senior citizens. The AAL Association would like to welcome representatives of regions or projects closely related to regions for a first exchange of information and possible interest and ideas for cooperation in the area of Ambient Assisted Living.

Workshop: Multimodal Location Based Techniques for Extreme Navigation
Location-based data and services for geographical and navigational information (such as electronic maps and gps directions), are usually presented using visual displays. With the increasing complexity of information, and the variety of contexts of use, it becomes important to consider how other non-visual sensory channels, such as audition and touch, can be used to communicate necessary and timely information to users. This workshop will provide a forum for sharing research ideas and findings in this field.

Science and Policy Forum on Future and Emerging Technologies Flagships
Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Flagship Initiatives are proposed to be visionary, science- and goal-driven large-scale European ICT research initiatives cascading into various scientific and technological areas, from long-term to more technology-driven research. The scientific advance is at the center of the initiatives. Flagships should generate a wave of technological innovation and economic exploitation, ideally in a variety of areas and sectors, and would carry an important societal impact.
The overall objective of this workshop is to establish an open, high-level, high-visibility event and to inform all stakeholders (from key scientists to research policy makers) on the preparation of the FET Flagship Initiatives.

Speech recognition supporting learning: The future
Net4voice is a European project, funded under the Lifelong Learning Programme, that has been investigating how speech recognition can support learning in Schools, Universities and Further Education in the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy. The project has developed a methodology for using Speech Recognition technologies for learning and has evaluated its impact, including for learners with special needs. The aim of the conference is to share and discuss Net4voice findings and to help identify the future developments in speech recognition. Participation is free but prior registration is required.

EuroDIG 2010
The Pan-European dialogue on Internet governance (EuroDIG) is an open platform for informal and inclusive discussion and exchange on public policy issues related to Internet Governance (IG) between stakeholders from all over Europe.
Representatives from the private sector, governments, parliaments, civil society and the media, as well as institutions and organisations, from across Europe will discuss these issues in a series of plenary events and workshops about how to govern the Internet.
This edition will also address children’s use of social media, new Top Level Domain Names (TLDs), data protection, jurisdiction challenges, the emergence of cloud computing and the Internet in 2020.The multi-stakeholder debates will serve to prepare the European contributions to the Internet Governance Forum scheduled for 14-17 September 2010 in Vilnius (Lithuania).
